Further afield, the Quantock Hills and glorious Exmoor National Park promise enjoyable days out. Golf 1.5 miles. Shop/PO 1 mile, pub serving food 2 miles.

Reviews
We stayed at Russett Cottage for a week and had a lovely time. The owner's hospitality was appreciated & we were made to feel very welcome on arrival. The cottage is modern and well equipped, with comfortable beds and a good shower (very important!) In a quiet area, we had views over countryside at breakfast and during our holiday saw deer, fox, pheasant and were visited by three friendly ducks! The kids enjoyed playing on the patio, which was very safe and in the grassy garden area. The area is great whatever the weather-we enjoyed the fab sandy beaches at Weston-super-Mare & Burnham-on-sea, the Roman Baths, Cheddar Caves, Wookey Hole and the very interesting city of Wells. Could have stayed another week, and would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful break in beautiful surroundings with lots to see and do and the accommodation was very comfortable... other than the weather there really is nothing I can think of that could have improve the situation.

With its lovely beaches beautiful countryside and fascinating history, dating back to the times of the Ancient Britons, Somerset makes a wonderful cottage holiday destination. And the best way to experience the county’s many attractions is from your base in one of our holiday cottages in Somerset. Bath has some of Britain’s most majestic Georgian architecture, as well as the famous Roman Baths (not mention great shopping). Then there’s Wells, England’s smallest city. Wandering around the cathedral close, with its unspoilt medieval lanes is like taking a step back in time. And for a real sense of mystery, there’s Glastonbury (home of the world-famous music festival), supposedly the site of King Arthur’s mythical Avalon. All await you on one of our Somerset cottage holidays. The county has more than its fair share of beach resorts too. The Grand Pier at Weston-Super-Mare is superb, as is the wide beach here, while Minehead and Burnham-on-Sea offer a choice of traditional seaside pleasures. Meanwhile, for nature lovers there’s the wild landscape of Exmoor, and the Mendip and Quantock Hills, both Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cheddar Gorge is truly stunning. Great for real Cheddar cheese too!
